Custom Bathroom Design
The Kitchen Village is also your best choice for custom bathroom design. Take a look at our next challenge. The master bathroom and master closet were both undersized, given the quality and size of the home, while there was a large, adjoining bedroom space. Our client wanted a larger bathroom living space and a larger walk-in closet. In particular, a much larger shower was high on their request list, as were double vanity sinks, a stand-alone soaker tub, and more in bathroom storage. The rooms showed their age and needed to be updated in a tasteful, timeless manner. There was a large walk-in bay window that unfortunately leaked badly.
What We Created
We removed and relocated walls to enlarge the bathroom space, closet space and hallway into the bathroom. We gutted the bathroom, including the bay windows. The space for the shower was greatly enlarged and a seat was added along with a rain can shower head and separate hand shower. We designed a porcelain tile mix for the shower and room flooring based upon natural colors for a spa-like timeless look. High-quality ventilation was installed and controlled via a digital timer module. A large, transitional style, free-standing soaker tub was added along with a tub filler faucet. Also, a separate hand shower was set off of the floor. So as you can see, we truly created a unique custom bathroom design.
A flat screen TV was installed above one end of the bed where it could be best viewed throughout the room. His and her vanity spaces were created including plenty of drawer storage. Large, cabinet-matching mirrors were installed above each sink. Richly-stained cherry cabinetry in a traditional style was used throughout the design. Complimentary, spacious granite vanity top with two under-mount sinks were used. A window seat was created beneath the walk-in bay windows that includes a cabinet-matching wood top. The bay windows were replaced and the water leaks were taken care of. Tall linen cabinetry storage was created. The walk-in closet was enlarged and a ProCloset modular closet system was installed. Lots of additional closet-type storage was created by adding tall cabinetry in the hallway leading to the master bathroom. Room floor tiles were large and set on a diagonal for peaking interest.
